2017 My Year In Review

2017!

Happy New Year Everyone! I’ve been reflecting back upon the year that’s just passed and thought that it would be fun to share some of my highlights from 2017.

* The Lows*

The year began quite frankly, horrendously, as a very close relative of mine took seriously ill and had to spend two months in hospital.  This experience certainly tested my strength and moulded me into a stronger more resilient person.  Although I want to concentrate on the happy moments of the year, I think its only right to acknowledge that bad things happen.

*Academic Achievement*

The middle Summer months of the year were definitely my favourite! I got all glammed up and attended my graduation ball which was a great way to round up 4 years of study! In June I attained my biggest achievement to date graduating with my degree! I feel really proud that I managed to get my degree, especiall amidst how difficult the beginning of the year was.  In September, I began my MSc degree and have been really enjoying it! Hopefully, this year shall see me graduate again in November!

*Travel*

I visited some really amazing places this year during the Summer.  I went to Copenhagen, Denmark, the first Scandinavian country that I’ve been too. It’s such a lovely city and my highlights were patting goats in the zoo *they were adorable* and visiting Tivoli Gardens, a magical theme park.  I was also lucky enough to visit Carcassonne, in the South of France.  This was a gorgeous trip and everywhere looked like something out of a Disney movie.  I also enjoyed a spa day which was sooo relaxing, especially as my friend and I had the spa to ourselves.  In December, I managed an overnight trip to Edinburgh with my mum.  It was a lovely way to round up the year.

*Friends*

2017 has taught me many lessons about friendship.  I’ve lost quite a few friends as paths have gone in different directions. Although I’ve found this frustrating, I’ve learned that this is life and that there is no point in forcing friendships.  I’ve come to accept this and be grateful for the season that they were in my life for and realise that we all move on.  I’ve made some new friends in 2017 and remained friends with some of my oldest friends!

I hope that you liked gaining an insight into my 2017! It was a fun task for me to sit down reflect and write about what the past 12 months have meant to me.  I hope you have a wonderful 2018 filled with good health and amazing experiences and memories!
