The weather here in Scotland has really started to pick up and feel like summer, so yesterday a couple of my friends and I decided to take full advantage of sun and go on the first picnic of the year! I thought this would be a good post to write to inspire you if you want to organise a summer picnic.
For food we were quite lazy as it was the end of the working week, we decided to opt for supermarket food consisting of :- sandwiches, family sized bag of crisps, chicken, cupcakes and drinks. Although this did work out quite costly, the supermarkets really do have a good variety of picnic food. We also picked up some cute paper plates and napkins which came in handy.
In terms of the location, we had already the Botanic Gardens in mind in Glasgow which is a really big park. A good tip would be to walk further into the park as we found more secluded areas which had many picnic benches without it being quite as crowded as the entrance of the park.
We hadn’t seen each other in a while so we spent the afternoon chatting whereas it could be a good idea to take a pack of playing cards or another game to spend the afternoon. If you have a big group together playing a game of hide and seek could be fun in such a big park.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post. I think a picnic is a perfect opportunity to gather a group of friends and enjoy an afternoon in the sun, leave me a comment below and make sure to follow my blog if your new
