It seems as though all of my favourite you tubers have suddenly re- discovered the Real Techniques Sponge, when it has in fact never gone away. For once, I feel as though I have been using this makeup applicator before it exploded again into the beauty world.
In my opinion the sponge deserves the hype that its been getting again recently. Firstly, its cheap retailing at £5.99 and even some Superdrug and Boots have a 2 pack for under a £10. Secondly, its super easy to use all that needs to be done is for the sponge to be dampened before you pat it into your foundation.
I feel that its a nice step to my morning makeup routine because as the sponge is damp it feels cooling and refreshing on the skin as well as adding some moisture to my face. It blends foundation and concealer in a dream and because of the shape of it you can use both sides for different angles of the face such as round the nose etc. I always feel that my makeup is blended to perfect and it gives an airbrush finishing look to it.
The only criticism I have is that after a few uses I feel the sponge gets quite grubby and I haven’t mastered a way of how to clean it. However, for the retail price I don’t feel guilty at purchasing a few every couple of months.
